As we drove north on Route 52 in Delaware yesterday on the way to a wedding, we saw the sign at Winterthur announcing ‘Yuletide.’
Winterthur is the magnificent former home of Henry DuPont. The DuPont residence, collections, and gardens are open to the public. Yuletide tours feature sections of the DuPont home decorated in holiday splendor. We particularly enjoy these tours and gain ideas for our own holiday decorations, not to mention accessing this extraordinary collection of American antiques. The tour guides are extremely knowledgeable and helpful, pointing out details we might otherwise overlook. They patiently answer all of our questions. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
